GERUND AND INVINITIVES


Gerunds : 
  
1. We can’t drive a car without a driving license.
2. He kept on asking money.
3. Can you sneeze without opening your mouth?
4. One of life's pleasures is having breakfast in bed.5. Our arriving late would be an insult to our dinner hosts.
6. I’m not good at cheating.
7. We arrived in Bali after driving all night.
8. He tried finishing his task, but he couldn’t.
9. The hardest thing about learning English is understanding the gerund..
10. He encourages taking more exercises.


To Infinitives:

1. He bought some flowers to give to his wife.
2. He locked the door to keep everyone out.
3. We set off early in order to avoid the traffic.
4. They spoke quietly in order not to wake the children
5. We were happy to come to the end of our journey
6. I have a big desire to be rich.
7. He gives me an opportunity to change.
8. He was reluctant to tell the truth.
9. The government ceased to provide free health care.
10. She was annoyed by her failure to answer the question correctly.
